clients are indigent defendants charged with federal crimes ranging from drug crimes to white-collar
crimes to terrorism. We practice holistic defense lawyering to protect our clients’ rights and

Join Our Team
We need an administrative assistant to fill a full-time position with a variety of administrative and
management tasks. Starting salary is JSP 9/1 at $51,853 to 12/1 at $75,195 depending on experience,
and includes generous federal benefits.
The Job
The Administrative Assistant will perform administrative and management tasks relating to policy,
personnel, operations, case openings and closings, finance, and purchasing. Duties include, but are
not limited to:
• Office administration and management: working with administrative staff; ensuring adherence
to office policies and procedures; maintaining and monitoring of internal controls and assisting
with audits and assessments; and responding to administrative inquiries from staff and other
organizations.
• Financial management: gathering information for office purchases ordering supplies and
checking inventory; acquisitions as a need for staff; managing postage meters and funds;
registering employees for training programs and paying any fees charged for training.
• Personnel duties: maintaining employee files; working with the administrative team, the 10th
Circuit and Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts in answering employee human resources
inquiries and offering information regarding services and benefits; and assisting newly hired
employees with training and orientation.
• Office space maintenance: identifying staff furniture and physical office space needs;
interacting with the administrative team, General Services Administration (GSA) and our
building’s property management for space emergencies, maintenance, repairs, and
improvements.

• Electronic client case management: this requires using justice works’ defenderData (data)
program and the federal court’s CM/ECF filing system. This means opening and closing cases in
data; running conflict checks on all incoming cases; entering client & case information into
data; closing both the physical and data case files at case’s end; working with and backing
up our CJA administrator; and preparing monthly reports.
You Must
Be a US citizen or eligible to work in the United States; and
Pass an FBI background check.
