Program Specialist
The National Center for State Courts (NCSC) is an independent, non-profit court improvement organization. NCSC's services--research, information services, education, consulting, association management and technical assistance-are focused on helping courts plan, make decisions, and implement improvements that save time and money, while ensuring judicial administration that supports fair and impartial decision-making.
NCSC is seeking applicants to fill a program support role in its Research Division. Positions in this job class provide functional program support and administrative services to the project managers/directors in the Research Division.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Supports project staff in data collection/data entry and survey analysis and production of project deliverables;
Provides technical assistance for study-related requests/inquiries;
Coordinates funder/client interaction, communication and requests;
Participates in the planning and implementation of case studies, literature reviews and focus groups;
Develops and generates progress reports, produces and updates census listings;
Assists in proposal review and drafting and completion of the project/grant application submission process;
Assists with travel arrangement for project managers/directors;
Attends and provides administrative support for meetings and coordinates meeting logistics such as meals and hotel accommodations; and
Prepares, reviews and monitors budgets for federal grants and projects for multiple project directors.
Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this position candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, public administration, sociology or business; or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position;
Four or more years of experience in a program/project support role that includes providing administrative support and project management support;
Experience in a research, government or court related environment is desirable;
Knowledge of office management and support practices and procedures to include budget preparation and monitoring;
Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment and to effectively interact with a diverse mix of individuals;
Advanced skill in Microsoft Office Suite with full proficiency in Excel and Word;
Experience using data visualization software such as Adobe Suite: InDesign, Photoshop or similar software;
Familiarity with project management software desirable;
Ability to produce reports, presentations incorporating data visualization features desirable; and
Ability to travel overnight periodically.
