Facilities Management operates & maintains approximately 4.2 million sq. ft. of space at the Capitol Complex & throughout the metropolitan Richmond area, including office buildings, the State Capitol, the Governor's Mansion & monuments. Plumbers - ER037
Required: Must have a HS diploma, GED, or equiv. combo. of education, training &/or experience. Valid VA DL required. Considerable experience performing plumbing installation, repair, & maintenance operations. Journey level knowledge of the principles & methods associated w/ plumbing & steam distribution systems installation, repair, maintenance, & operation of domestic water pumping systems equipment according to BOCA plumbing code & NFPA-13. Skilled in the use of hand & power tools, gauges & equip. used in the plumbing trades. Ability to troubleshoot, test, diagnose & repair a wide variety of plumbing, fire protection, & mechanical equip. Knowledge & ability to read & interpret blueprints, diagrams, drawings, specifications & operating manuals. Ability to work independently as well as a team member. Must have strong communication skills, able to communicate w/ various levels of users & occupants of DGS bldgs. & facilities. Must be able to follow oral & written instructions. Basic computer skills required such as email. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs., reach overhead, bend, kneel, & crouch.
Preferred: Journeyman or Master plumbing or steamfitters card. Backflow detection certified. Electricians - ER009

Skill in use of electrical tools & instruments used to install equip. & systems as well as other hand & power tools, gauges, & equip. used in HVAC & electrical trades. Ability to troubleshoot, test, diagnose & repair a wide variety of HVAC, electrical, structural, mechanical & plumbing equip. Ability to read & interpret blueprints, diagrams, drawings, specifications & operating manuals. Ability to work independently as well as a team member. Must have strong communication skills, & able to communicate w/ various levels of users & occupants of DGS bldgs. & facilities. Must be able to follow oral & written instructions. Ability to troubleshoot, test, diagnose and repair a wide variety of HVAC, electrical, structural, mechanical & plumbing equip. Ability to read & interpret blueprints, diagrams, drawings, specifications & operating manuals. Ability to work independently as well as a team member. Must have strong communication skills, & able to communicate w/ various levels of users & occupants of DGS bldgs. & facilities. Candidate must be able to follow oral & written instructions. Preferred: CFC refrigerant certified or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment. Experience with automated building management systems. Journeyman or Masters card in HVAC.
